Whitaker would go on to earn the nickname “Snakeman of India,” and spend more than six decades dedicated to reptile research and conservation. His field work with snakes and crocodiles ultimately led his conservation efforts to help save India’s rainforests. We tell people when they’re working in the field, when they’re doing agriculture, use a stick. Romulus Whitaker teaches the next generation about reptiles at his conservation organization, Agumbe Rainforest Research Station, in southern India. And it’s wonderful to realize that dozens, if not hundreds, of young people have continued to do wonderful work with reptiles.

I fell in love with the Louvre one morning while doing disco moves to Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough” in the Salle des Cariatides. The museum, a former medieval fortress and then royal palace, had not yet opened, and I was following instructions to catwalk and hip bump and point in the grand room where Louis XIV once held plays and balls. The sun cast warm light through long windows, striping the pink-and-white checkered floor and bathing the marble arms, heads and wings of the ancient Grecian statues around me. “Point, and point, and point,” shouted Salim Bagayoko, a dance instructor. So I struck my best John Travolta poses and pointed around the room, my eyes landing on the delicate sandaled foot of Artemus, the wings of a Niobid and the stone penis of Apollo.

In a bitter public feud, hip-hop stars Drake and Kendrick have exchanged personal slurs. Since March, the two have traded increasingly personal and aggressive diss tracks. AdvertisementAfter weeks of the bitter public feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar finally looks like it's over — or at least dying down. And the rap stars didn't hold back trading a series of increasingly aggressive and unpleasant diss tracks. Ultimately, it seems unlikely that either rapper will end up suing for defamation over the slur-laden diss tracks.

The rap battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is about more than whatever personal beefs these two men have with each other. What sets this rap battle apart from previous high-profile hip-hop feuds is its magnitude and implications for popular music. If Drake, who has become the face of rap’s mainstream pop faction, has lost this battle, that setback is not his alone. Mr. Lamar’s ability to write layered and intricate lyrics has long been lauded. Mr. Lamar’s apparent decision to remove copyright protections for “Not Like Us” has also enabled a wide dissemination of the track, allowing content creators to monetize posts featuring the song.

CVS Health on Wednesday reported first-quarter revenue and adjusted earnings that missed expectations and slashed its full-year profit outlook, citing higher medical costs that are dogging the U.S. insurance industry. The drugstore chain expects 2024 adjusted earnings of at least $7 per share, down from a previous guidance of at least $8.30 per share. The company said its new outlook assumes that higher medical costs in its insurance business during the first quarter will persist throughout the year. Medicare Advantage, a privately run health insurance plan contracted by Medicare, has long been a key source of growth and profits for the insurance industry. Excluding certain items, such as amortization of intangible assets and capital losses, adjusted earnings per share were $1.31 for the quarter.

Drake deleted his "Taylor Made Freestyle" diss tracks aimed at Kendrick Lamar on social media. Sidestep injury with the lateral lunge

The side or lateral lunge is one of the best exercises for building lateral stability and mobility in the often neglected frontal plane. The side lunge also improves the mobility and stability of your hips, knees and ankles to avoid related strains and sprains. By strengthening the muscles involved in lateral movement with side lunges, you can accomplish these chores more efficiently while reducing your risk of muscle strain or injury. Training with side lunges can increase your lateral movement strength, enhance your mobility and boost your confidence to be more adventurous outdoors. The side or lateral lunge strengthens the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, adductors and core to help you ward off injuries.

Carrie Robbins, a meticulous and resourceful costume designer who worked on more than 30 Broadway shows from the 1960s to the 2000s, died on April 12 in Manhattan. She was 81. Her death, at a hospital, was confirmed by Daniel Neiden, a friend, who said her health had declined after she fell and broke her hip in December. In 1972, when she was just 29 years old, Ms. Robbins began “emerging as one of the hottest costume designers in show business,” as the syndicated fashion columnist Patricia Shelton put it, thanks to her work that year on the original Broadway production of “Grease,” six years before it was turned into a hit movie.

Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Frampton and Mary J. Blige are part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2024, along with Dave Matthews Band, Kool & the Gang, Foreigner and A Tribe Called Quest, the hall announced on Sunday. The latest crop of stars will officially join the pantheon in a ceremony on Oct. 19 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, where the hall’s affiliated museum is also located. Of those artists, four were elevated to the hall on their first nomination: Cher, Foreigner, Frampton and Kool & the Gang. Osbourne was nominated for the first time as a solo act, though he had joined the hall as part of Black Sabbath in 2006. The Rock Hall has come under increasing pressure in recent years to diversify its ranks with more women and artists of color, and has made progress in that regard, though some critics say it is not enough.

But now that my son is 10 and I've made it over the halfway mark to him being 18, I'm actually really glad I had him when I was younger. I reminded myself to be presentWhen my son was little, sometimes I did feel like I was missing out. While I know I'm still young, I'm definitely starting to feel my age. If I still want to, I'll be able to take those big trips or pursue careers I wouldn't have been able to while he was young.
